Name: Unknown
Aliases: Equinox, “Nox” (for short)
Age (actual/appears): Exact age is unknown / appears to be in her early-to-mid twenties.
Gender: Female
Nationality: American
Occupation/Organization: Umbrella Special Forces [U.S.F.]
Allies: No allies.
Enemies: No enemies - everything for the mission.
Physical Description: 5’ 9” (175.3 cm), 168lbs (76.4 kg), blood type: O
Equinox rarely removes her black ghouls’ gas mask, but beneath there lies a definite beauty. Caucasian, pale, she stands in at a fairly average height for a woman and is of decent body mass – Nox is certainly no tank, but her petite figure is both athletic and able.
Ash blonde hair, worn in a medium cut – it ends just shy of her shoulders. Bangs worn pushed to the right. Equinox has unusual silver-blue eyes. They seem reflective and almost-unnatural in colour, but there is no data confirm that there is anything inhuman about them. Very moderate, modest bust. No known scars.
Attire: Usual attire for a USF operative; gas mask, USF over-jacket (standard top) with the unit’s emblem on the back, elbow pads, wrist length full-finger gloves, military watch (face worn on inner-wrist for quick-viewing purposes), tactical vest with stomach pouches, shoulder clips, and a series clasps down the left-hand side where she usually keeps her pineapples, which seem to have been nicked. Military belt, fatigues, knee guards, and standard SWAT boots. Both boots have a compartment for retractable blades, but the blades too seem to be missing.
All of Equinox’s gear is uniform black in colour and she looks the same as any other USF operative, except for one difference:
Nox’s gasmask has been modified with blue lenses instead of red, and the “grills” of her mask’s mouthpiece are in the shape of an N rater than your standard series of slits.
Strengths: Nox is extremely flexible and agile. Quick on her feet, she has high speed and dexterity. Limber and small (comparatively), Equinox can fit herself into places that other people might not be able to get into. Vents are no chore, and remaining completely hidden is one of her strongest assets. Nox has particular fondness for waiting up on the ceiling and then dropping down to choke-hold or slit her opponent’s neck from behind, when they are least suspecting it. She is perfectly trained in stealth and espionage. Some refer to her movement as spiderlike: silent and deadly.
Strength above average for a female (or at least above expectations); most of her techniques are physical/melee oriented, so she has the strength and know-how to wrestle a man to the ground. Excellent at Close Quarters Combat and professional with a knife. Decent with a firearm; measures up to expectations for a Special Forces Operative. She prefers a UZI SMG 9mm (with silencer) to the USF standard Heckler & Koch VP70. Her personal firearm is named “Agro” (Battle; Slaughter) and has the word etched into the left side—(the name is meant to be invocative of HUNK’s “Matilda” (Powerful Battler)). She’ll be quite pissed to know that he’s missing too.
Nox is a quick-thinker, sharp, and able to adapt quickly. Her plans are usually solid but flexible enough to account for errors, and usually backed up by a plan B, C, D, and E. Not easily frustrated, and almost always eerily calm. She is always rational and placid, even in situations dire. A realist. Her buttons aren’t easily pushed, so much so that some wonder if she even has “buttons” to begin with.
Perhaps the most valuable of her strengths: Equinox seems to repel T-carriers rather than attract them. Ghouls infected with T seem to pay her little mind when she is in their immediate vicinity; unless she makes herself an obvious target, they will ignore her rather than hone in on her. This does not apply to B.O.W. or the more-sentient infected, such as other people’s characters. Only your standard zombie/undead (dogs, crows).
Weaknesses: No obvious viral enhancements, despite the eyes and innate ability to repel T-carriers—no super strength, no super speed, and no regenerative abilities. Although able to handle her own, Nox is only as strong as the next human character over. She’s built and accomplished, like a USF operative should be, but she can’t move impossible objects or accomplish feats beyond the norm.
While she may repel T-carriers, she is not immune to the T-virus or any other derivative therein (Progenitor, G, TG, T-Veronica, etc); in short she doesn’t attract T-carriers, but if bitten by one she would become infected. As previous mentioned, she hast to deal with B.O.W. like anyone else. This list is inclusive of Umbrella Manufactured products (Lickers, Hunters, Ivys, ORs, Tyrants or any variants there-of), not the accidental by-produced infected.
No other known weaknesses.
Personality: Entirely professional, a woman of little words. Some of her fellow operatives might use the adjectives “cold” or “unfeeling” in order to describe her, but Equinox does have a habit of playing coy every now and then. She just doesn’t form conventional attachments easily.
Tends to keep herself removed; the sort of person who would rather lurk in the shadows. She is prone to taking advantage of other people and using them in order to get ahead of the game. Cut throat. Impartial to the needs of others. Egocentric. Nox has a bold confidence about her, but knows better than to let it go to her head. She is simply sure of her abilities.
Equinox is the sort of person who doesn’t seem to have any particular loyalties or allegiance. She accomplishes a feat because it is placed before her, without consulting her conscience over the matter: she has no qualms about taking the life of another person so long as it furthers the mission objective. Everything for the mission.
Despite her removed stance, she has been harboring a slowly-growing feeling of discontent towards the Umbrella Corporation, and apparently that resentment has not gone unnoticed despite her impeccable performance record remaining unwaveringly bright…
Background: Much of Equinox’s history is unknown, the records left blank. Even her real name. How or where she acquired her skill sets remains a much-talked about mystery. Many people seem to agree on the notion that that she may be descended from the operative HUNK, a USF soldier whose skill and prowess to this day remain unmatched within the Special Forces division of Umbrella Inc. Equinox herself will neither confirm nor deny these rumors, but with her long thread of victories and successes, as well as remaining the last soldier of her unit standing, consecutively, over and over again, it seems to lend itself to the notion nicely. It has also rumored that Equinox is host to a variation of the T-virus, due to her eyes and the way that she does not attract ghouls to her person, but this too is entirely up for debate.
Nox has spent her entire adult life working for the Umbrella Corporation, and her life before that she considers unnecessary and irrelevant. Therefore she does not disclose. What matters on the job is her skill, nothing else. The rest just becomes a handicap.
Although gains a specific sense of purpose and fulfillment from her job, there are minor things within the corporation itself that have been testing at her patience as of late. Though she has not voiced these grievances directly, the one or two utterances of discontent that she has made about management while in passing seems to have landed her in a bizarre life-or-death game which she was left rather unprepared for. As one of Umbrella’s own, it remains completely up in the air how she will fare not so much against B.O.W. and the undead around the mansion, but rather against the other surviving combatants of Gilded Cage.
