Name: Tomta
Aliases: Tom or Tommy (Doesn’t really have anyone close enough to her to use these at the moment)
Age (actual/appears): Mid 40s, appears to be in her early 20s.
Gender: Female
Species: Saiyan
Planet of Origin: Planet Vegeta
Allegiance: Tarble and his allies
Allies: Tomta has respect for and a good working relationship with the other members of the ship’s Crew, though actively avoids Vegeta.
Enemies: Freiza.
Physical Description: Tomta is scrawny and pale, generally appearing frail and sickly. Late nights and a circadian rhythm decimated by time on other planets has left her with dark circles under her eyes. Standing at about 5'3, she has a very narrow frame and very little muscle mass for a Saiyan. A genetic condition makes her heal slowly and improperly. Tomta has very long (falling to about her knees), straight black hair, that she typically wears in a tidy braid to keep it out of her way. Ears are pierced, one small metal hoop earring in each ear, a second in the cartilage of her left ear.
Usual Attire: Standard Black and gold armor and boots, one shoulder strap on the armor. The leotard worn under the armor is green. Legwarmers fit into her boots, and armwarmers go from her knuckles to mid forearm, with a hole for the thumb. Both of these sets are very dark blue.
Strengths: Quick thinking and cunning are Tomta’s main strengths. She can communicate effectively with a great number of other peoples. Good ki control makes her an agile flier. Due to her upringing, can make basic repairs to many common pieces of machinery. She is patient, hardworking and exerts excellent self-control.
Weaknesses: Tomta is physically weak, and easily hurt. Once injured, she takes abnormally long to recover. Though she feels a great deal of anger and above all else guilt, she is very much one to bottle her feelings. Tom is withdrawn and has difficulty expressing her feelings beyond professional opinions, or confiding in others.
Signature Moves: None. Has her tail and can transform during a full moon.
Fighting Style: Tomta prefers to keep her distance and relies almost exclusively on energy attacks. Her fighting style is efficient and straightforward. If actually forced to resort to fighting, Tomta wastes no time killing an opponent. While currently unable to hide her ki, she would be very interested in learning.
Personality: Cold, quiet and rather calculating, Tomta does not show a lot of what she feels. She is intelligent, professional and not particularly friendly, and most comfortable when there is work for her to do. Her sense of humour is dry and particularly morbid.
Background:
The first child of two high-ranking elites, Tomta was born weak and sickly and was therefore incredibly disappointing. Though she proved to be tenacious and fearless, she never seemed to get any stronger. The saiyans captured a new planet for the Arcosians in exchange for their technology, though the planet was populated by huge insects resistant to their weaponry. As even a weak saiyan would be enough to handle the bugs and any that might hatch in the near future, Tomta’s parents offered their young daughter for the job and she was promptly shipped off to New Arcos. She picked up the common tongue easily and soon learned other languages as well as gradually learning about machinery and its workings. Access to a healing tank meant she could really train for the first time without injuring herself horribly, and she became slightly stronger.
Arcos was a Kold Empire annex, and eventually the saiyans were annexed as well. Tomta was sent to live on a planet trade organization controlled interplanetary marketplace to learn to speak a number of languages, which she found progressively easier to learn. Once she was ready, she was put to work as an interpreter for Freiza, often used to search through the rubble of a cleared planet for any intelligence or technology that might be of use before it was sold. She learned about these peoples posthumously while searching, and began to really understand the harm Freiza was doing and feel for his victims. Feeling powerless to resist him, however, she dedicated her energy to mitigating the damage caused by the Kold Empire by trying to persuade resistant, useful, peoples to be annexed instead of slaughtered. She was going through the ruins of Kanassa when she was informed her home planet had been destroyed by a “meteorite”. She was certain she knew what had really happened, but knew better than to let it show and continued as usual, feeling trapped.
However, years later when Vegeta turned against Freiza, Tomta suddenly became suspect as well. She was immediately reassigned to work out of a prison on Zonus and watched like a hawk. Tom was never confined to a cell or subjected to any of the horrors Vegeta endured once he was apprehended, but the threat was there, and she became progressively more apprehensive as she was trusted with less and less work. Was eager to join Tarble when he and his crew appeared to rescue Vegeta. Ultimately, Tomta now hopes to be helpful however she can in Tarble’s mission as a way to make up for all of the evil she contributed to and carried out directly while working for Freiza.
Personal Effects: None to which she is especially attached.
