Name: Son Gohan
Aliases: None
Age 14
Gender: Male
Species: Half Saiyan, Half Human
Planet of Origin: Earth
Allegiance: Gohan’s alliance lies with Krillin, and anyone that opposes Frieza.
Allies: Gohan generally counts those that oppose Frieza on board the ship as his ally. Though he may not know them, he would gladly have their back in a fight if they needed it. Gohan is most loyal to Krillin and Bulma, his only remaining family.
Enemies: Gohan’s only two enemies at this point are Frieza, anyone that works with Frieza, and Vegeta.
Physical Description: standing not much taller than Krillin at 5’4”, slight build, lithe and compact muscle structure. He has short, messy dark black hair and dark eyes.
Usual Attire: Gohan alternates between an outfit similar to Goku's original with the turtle symbol on the back, and an outfit very similar to his late mentor Piccolo.
Strengths: Gohan is a fast, smart, focused, and very well trained in many different fighting styles. Due to this, he is quite unpredictable and could end up throwing his opponent for a loop in a moment’s notice. Gohan has a very calm spirit, and never allows his temper to get the better of him in a fight, knowing very well it could be the end of him. Like his father before him, he studies his opponent’s movements while fighting, tracking their ki and formulating appropriate counter measures that will leave them unable to fight.
After having had his true potential unlocked by Guru on Namek, Gohan has the potential to become even stronger than Goku could have ever been.
Weaknesses: Though gohan is well trained, he lacks the true fighting experience needed to hone his skills. Gohan does not retain his father’s passion for fighting, despite his half saiyan heritage; he lacks the saiyan blood lust. Gohan is far too merciful/forgiving and it would be very easy to take advantage of his kindness. Though Gohan is smart, he is still fairly naive, and often likes to think the best in people.
Gohan rarely angers, but when he is pushed to the brink his power explodes and he loses himself in his rage. Though very powerful in this state, the boy has no control over himself and can be easily overtaken.
Signature Moves:
Kamehameha- Goku's signature attack. It is also a signature attack of the students of the Turtle school. The Kamehameha is formed when cupped hands are drawn to the user's side and the ki is concentrated into a single point between the cupped hands (the hands must be very close or touching). The hands are then thrust forward to shoot out a streaming, powerful beam of energy.
Solar Flare- The technique is performed by the user placing their hands close to the center of their face with the fingers spread toward their eyes. The user then calls out 'Solar Flare!' and a blinding white light flashes and blinds everything watching except the user, since they are projecting the light. This technique is defensive rather than offensive, and is mainly used as way to gain the upper hand or in order to make hasty retreat.
Masenko- One of Piccolo’s signature attacks. The attack is performed by the user placing both hands above the head with the palms facing the target and one hand in front of the other with the fingers going in opposite directions. When the user thrusts their hands forward, they call the name and fire a beam of yellow, white, or orange energy.
Fighting Style: Being that Gohan was trained by both Piccolo and Krillin, his fighting style is quite varied and unpredictable. His movements are fluid, crisp and never without purpose, the way of the namekian, and yet so powerful, brutal, often dealt with bruising forcefulness, no doubt due to Krillin’s influence. Gohan relies heavily on strategy, and never goes into a battle without some sort of contingency plan.
Personality:
Gohan is a shy, studious, and intellectual child. As a child, he lacks the Saiyan fighting spirit; he must utilize his incredible half-breed Saiyan potential and emotional reserves to protect those he loves. Gohan, being only half-Saiyan, is unusual in his values and personality. These unique values and personality separate him from pure Saiyans; as powerful as he is, he does not like fighting much. However, when he is forced to fight, he shows special interest in protecting his family and friends. Like his father, Goku, Gohan has a pure and gentle heart. Also like his father, he has the typical Saiyan appetite. Though he claims he does not share the love of fighting Goku had, Gohan does indeed show love martial arts and adventure.
Background:
Gohan was born in the month of May, about a year after Goku and Chi-Chi married following the conclusion of the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament. As a newborn he went on for a time without a name until Goku's grandfather's name was mentioned, which Gohan liked. His early childhood was a pampered one, unlike his father's. His life was relatively well-balanced with a loving family and a nice home. Gohan was well-adjusted and intelligent, but unlike his father as a child, he lacked any affection for fighting and was easily scared at a level that most normal children would be.
Though, his comfortable life came to a veritable halt at the age of 4 when he was taken from his father by his Uncle Raditz while he and Goku were visiting Master Roshi and company.
After the battle with Raditz, Piccolo, having seen Gohan's power first hand, decides to take Gohan out training in the wilderness. Soon, Gohan's bright and cheerful nature makes Piccolo protective over the young boy. Eventually, the time comes for the Z Fighters to take on the remaining two Saiyans.
As the battle raged on, Gohan could only watch on in fear as the other Z fighters fell one by one at Nappa’s hand. When Nappa finally turns a lethal hand and fires a lethal energy blast at Gohan, Piccolo throws himself in front of Gohan and takes the impact. Gohan is deeply angered by Piccolo's death and in turn fires a powerful Masenko at Nappa, which does nothing in the end. Wrapped with despair, Gohan turns to the ground, and refuses to heed his Master’s dying wish to run and instead stays. Awaiting certain death, but is saved by the Flying Nimbus when the newly resurrected Goku finally arrived at the battle. After eating a Senzu Bean with Krillin, Gohan watches in awe as his father quickly overpowers Nappa. When Vegeta kills Nappa, Goku tells Gohan to let him battle Vegeta alone, not wanting anyone else to get hurt.
Later on, after Vegeta turns into a Great Ape using a Power Ball and severly injures Goku, Gohan returns to the battle with Krillin. After Yajirobe chops off Vegeta's tail, making him transform back, Gohan fights Vegeta alone while Krillin and a broken Goku prepare to fire a Spirit Bomb, the last resort. Krillin fires the Spirit Bomb, but misses. Gohan bounces it back, hitting Vegeta, but not killing him. Gohan himself transforms into a Great Ape after looking at Vegeta's Power Ball. He defeats Vegeta by landing on him after Vegeta removes his tail in the heat of their fight.
Vegeta finally retreats, and crawls to his space pod, realizing he cannot keep fighting in his current condition. A weakened Krillin gains consciousness, and just when he is about to stab Vegeta with Yajirobe's katana sword, Goku telepathically pleaded for Krillin to let Vegeta go. In Krillin’s moment of hesitation, Vegeta blasts him away, before staggering over to where Goku lay wounded and enda his life by bashing in Goku’s skull with a rock, then escapes in his shuttle.
After recovering from his injuries in West City hospital, Wukong Hospital, Gohan chose to go to the Planet Namek with Krillin and Bulma to gather the Namekian Dragon Balls, determined to set things right as they should be. Despite the group’s efforts, their quest proved fruitless and the dragon balls were acquired by the horrible space tyrant, Frieza. Defeated, the trio retreat back to earth to formulate a plan to battle Frieza.
