Name: Vegeta
Alias: None
Age: Appears to be in his early to mid-thirties
Gender: Male
Race: Saiyan
Allegiance: To those fighting against Frieza
Allies: Vegeta has no allies in his mind, and finds his brother’s plans to defeat Frieza utterly ridiculous. Despite that mind-set, he is found among the ranks of those that oppose Frieza and all that he stands for.
Enemies: Vegeta pretty much views everyone as a potential enemy regardless of what the truth actually is, and so he closes himself off to pretty much everyone.
Appearance: Vegeta is 5'5" tall. His hair firmly stands upwards, and has a prominent widow's peak. Though short, and lean in build, his body is almost complete muscle and he contains massive amounts of Ki that he often keeps suppressed. His body is littered with many scars, many of which he received from Frieza after his defection on namek. His right eye appears damaged due in part to Frieza’s brutality.
Attire/Equipment: Vegeta is never seen without his saiyan armor. It is all he has, and will ever wear.
Personality: Vegeta was well-known for his haughty, arrogant, and bitter nature as a result of the destruction of his homeworld, Planet Vegeta, and the abuse his race suffered at the hands of Frieza. His royal title seemed to have bestowed upon him an inflated sense of superiority, holding himself above nearly everybody he ever encountered. He was immensely proud of his Saiyan heritage and believed his race to be the most powerful in the universe. Though, his encounter on earth, and the subsequent events that followed seemed to have withdrawn him into a sort of shell. Vegeta rarely speaks, and when he does it is only when pressed to. He is quiet, reserved, and no longer jumps at the opportunity to fight. He would much rather be left to himself, and seems to enjoy his solitude.
Vegeta does not appear emotionally stable for reasons many are very unsure of. He cannot stand the sight of Gohan, and makes it a point to stay as far away from him and those he associates with as much as possible.
Strengths: Vegeta is a cunning strategist, and is quick to discover/exploit his enemy’s weaknesses in battle. In the heat of a fight, even in his current state, Vegeta is a hard one to keep down, even if your strength surpasses his own, it seems he has not yet learned when to quit. Due to his previous bouts of torture at the hands of Freiza, his power has increased dramatically since his time on Namek, and with that his threshold for pain has reached staggering new heights. Glancing blows that would have once left him near unconscious barely seem to faze him. Saiyan blood still courses though his veins, so when in the thick of an intense battle it is very much like a high for him, and with each battle he partakes in, he grows just a little bit stronger for it.
Weaknesses: Vegeta has a deep rooted fear when it comes to Gohan, and so much as seeing him causes Vegeta great distress. Despite his introverted behaviour, Vegeta can still be goaded into fighting with some effort and can become quite single minded in his rage. Vegeta’s emotional state is quite unstable, so keeping firm and focused during a fight is much harder than it once was for him, and it is quite easy to take advantage of him when he is distracted.
He can be headstrong, stubborn, and volatile if harassed.
Signature Moves:
Galick Gun- To utilize it, Vegeta curls his fingers and places both his hands together at chest level facing the same direction (so that the palm of one hand is on the back of the other). Then, once enough ki is gathered, he thrusts both hands forward to fire a powerful blast of energy. The result is a powerful, huge, fuchsia-colored ki beam that emanates from his hands and body. It is capable of destroying large planets if enough power is put into it.
Big Bang Attack- In order to perform it, Vegeta extends his arm, opens his palm and turns his hand up at a 90 degree angle. He then powers up and fires a powerful energy sphere at the opponent. This attack creates an enormous explosion upon contact and leaves a huge mushroom cloud.
Final Flash- In order to perform this technique, Vegeta draws his hands back and gathers up all of his Ki. Then, he thrusts his palms forward and discharges a massive golden-yellow beam of energy towards his opponent. Though, this attack takes much time to prepare and takes a heavy toll on the user. Vegeta has yet to use this technique in combat.
Background:
Vegeta was the first born son of King Vegeta and Queen Pota. The young prince had been groomed for greatness since birth by his parents, gifted with a high power level that surpassed even that of his father at birth. He proved at a very young age that he had the potential to be a very gifted warrior, and showed promise in his training. However, the King, Queen, and their sons were under the rule of the interplanetary warlord Frieza, and as the time passed and Vegeta grew into a young boy, Frieza pressured the king to surrender his first born son through undisclosed means. It is assumed that Frieza had taken the boy to keep his parents in line. This did not sit well with the Queen, and she rushed to face the tyrant only to meet her end by his (frieza) hands. While under Frieza's grip, he was pressured by Frieza to do his bidding, or else he threatened murder his father, King Vegeta. Despite this, Frieza kills King Vegeta anyway, after the late king attempted to form a mutiny against him, and later destroys the Saiyan planet, Planet Vegeta. As a result, all the Saiyans (except for Goku, Raditz, Vegeta, Nappa,Tarble and very few others) are killed.
Frieza kept Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz as slaves to do his bidding, while Goku escapes the devastation by being sent to cleanse Earth of all life moments before it was destroyed. Vegeta was inwardly angry over working under for Frieza, knowing very well who it was that had destroyed his planet and wiped out his entire race. Despite being Frieza's underling at the time, Vegeta constantly and proudly called himself the "Prince of all Saiyans." (A small quirk he took from his late mother) Vegeta never referred to himself as the "King of all Saiyans", possibly because he was never formally declared King.
Vegeta comes to Earth years later when he receives Raditz's dying report of seven magic objects known as the Dragon Balls which will grant wishes. After hearing this report, and of Raditz's death, Vegeta and his companion, Nappa, decide to come to Earth and use the Dragon Balls to wish for immortality. Goku and the Z Fighters are warned of their arrival, and begin to train themselves. When they landed on Earth, Nappa and Vegeta wreaked havoc with little to stop them. They then found Piccolo, Krillin, and Gohan waiting for them, with Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, and Yamcha appearing just after. After losing Yamcha, the rest of the Z Fighters powered up and readied themselves for a battle they all knew they would certainly lose.
Hours later, Goku finally arrives to the battle field only to find Tien, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, and Piccolo dead. Enraged by this, Goku steps forwards and tells Krillin and Gohan to step back and allow him to handle the rest of the fighting. The battle between them lasts for hours until both fighters are spent, near out of Ki and both their bodies torn and broken.
Vegeta finally retreats, and crawls to his space pod, realizing he cannot keep fighting in his current condition. A weakened Krillin gains consciousness, and just when he is about to stab Vegeta with Yajirobe's katana sword, Goku telepathically pleaded for Krillin to let Vegeta go. In Krillin’s moment of hesitation, Vegeta blasts him away, before staggering over to where Goku lay wounded and enda his life by bashing in Goku’s skull with a rock, then escapes in his shuttle.
Vegeta’s attempts to retrieve the Dragon balls on Namek were fruitless, Frieza gained his immortality and Vegeta became ensnared in the space tyrant’s clutches once again, broken of his desire for freedom, and unwilling to fight back anymore. He remained with Frieza for years, enduring the horrors that only those whom have crossed Frieza could know until Tarble and others came to his aid.
Fighting Style: Vegeta’s fighting style is very clinical, very thought out, and very crisp as is to be expected of those born of noble saiyan blood. Vegeta fights to win, and does not draw out his fighting, and brawl for the sheer pleasure of it as he did years before. He’s adept at exploiting weak spots, and is very quick at bringing his opponents down.
Vegeta, despite having changed as he did, is still driven by a sense of honor and would never attack someone when their back is exposed, and will flat refuse to fight if you are not at your best. (Often stating that it is below him to fight the weak) Vegeta fights with an air of apprehension, never backing down from a challenge issued to him, but always looking for the quickest possible way to end it before it gets brutal. Why this is has yet to be discovered.
