Name: Jonathan Wesker
Alias: Aden Maxwell
Age: Looks to be within his late thirties, early forties.
Gender: Male
Race: (BOW/Human)
Organisation: N/A
Appearance: 183cm (6 ft), 175 lbs, dirty blonde hair, Caucasian, Blue eyes, lean build, large jagged scar on his neck that he always keeps wrapped. His arms are littered with scars that he acquired by leaping from a window years back.
Attire: While his usual dress consists of his priest attire, he wakes dressed in rather casual clothing; Dark denim blue jeans, dark gray short sleeved shirt, worn military-esque combat boots, and his glasses.
Personality: John is very introverted and shy soul, he tends to keep to himself for the most part and has a rather hard time adjusting to new people. He can be harsh when he feels he needs to be and has no problem reeling out the sarcastic wit when he feels that someone is trying to wrong him. He has intense trust issues, and has been known to push people away without truly meaning to. But once you move past his barrier he tends to relax and open up quite a bit, becoming a very fun loving, and gentle person.
John abhors violence of any kind and considers it to be a last resort.
He is a man of many ticks and quirks; He flinches at sudden movements and has an intense fear of being touched. John is an insomniac and finds it rather hard to sleep, so he loves to sleep in as much as possible when he finds himself fortunate enough to have sleep, and tends to snap at those who wake him ahead of schedule. He is a man whom enjoys his coffee and his cigarettes more than one should. He quite enjoys playing the piano.
Strengths/Weaknesses: John's rather botched abnormal neural makeup gives him the ability to will things with his mind for a very limited amount of time. But with this ability comes a high price: With continued usage it damages his eyesight and threatens to someday render him blind. It causes his eyes to rupture which induce horrible, crippling headaches that often leave him incapacitated.
He is of average physical strength so a quick, strong blow to the head would do well in subduing him.
He has a deep rooted terror when it comes to his brother, Albert. So much as mentioning him would be a way of causing him distress.
John does carry his brother's resemblance and dislikes its mention.
John cannot withstand the cold for long periods of time as prolonged exposure to the elements has a tendency to make him very ill. John also has a strange obsession with the sight of red strewn over white, why this is has never been known.
John is a skilled marksman and very cunning but is too merciful/forgiving, so it would be rather easy to take advantage of his kindness.
Due to his abnormal neural physiology, it makes it rather hard for John to focus on many things at once, so it is quite easy to throw John off whilst he is suffering from his Brain fires.
Background:
Jonathan Wesker was the second born son of James and Laura Wesker. Younger by only a few moments to his eldest twin brother Albert. His early childhood was fairly average in nature if one glanced merely at the surface. An average life littered with photographs of smiling family moments that were never meant to last.
However, one fateful day, a young nine year old Albert Wesker made a clumsy and ultimately failed attempt to kill his younger sibling, the beginning of a lifelong sociopathic streak. The altercation left a ragged scar branded upon John’s throat , and ultimately his parents resolved to place John in the care of his Aunt and Uncle: Lucas and Mary Wesker. For his part, Albert learned from his mistake. He would never again be caught.
As he had been so young at the time, Jonathan retained no memory of the incident that had given him the scar on his throat, and his new found parents were hesitant to talk about the family they had left behind. John lived a relatively normal life from then on. He graduated high school, hearing that his older brother had been hired by the Umbrella Corporation and supposedly fast-tracked into a management position.
Due to his parent’s meager finances, John worked several jobs before he could finally afford to put himself through college, thus entering as a mature student at the age of 27. His life seemed to be on track, until the year he was due to graduate college. His aunt developed an aggressive form of cancer that ate through her in months, and John abandoned his studies to tend to her needs. Shortly after her death, six months later, Lucas, a Korean War veteran, succumbed to a lifelong battle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and took his own life in the dead of winter.
Now alone, John gave up on the hope of graduating college and instead drifted from job to job, with no stable income or real goal in life. During this time, he turned to his Aunt’s faith in an attempt to sustain himself, clinging to the cross in the same way his uncle had often clung to the bottle. That changed four years later, when he heard news of his brother, supposedly the newly-appointed Captain of S.T.A.R.S in Raccoon City.
Eager to track down his sole surviving relative, John journeyed to Raccoon. After asking around for his brother, he eventually found several of his work colleagues, among them Alpha Team marksman, Chris Redfield. Chris was only too happy to meet someone related to his Captain, who was, in his mind, the archetype of what a true police officer should be. For his part, John was won over by Chris’s sincere and enthusiastic manner.
This was unfortunate for Albert Wesker, who quickly realized, upon seeing his brother again, that the other man could potentially jeopardize his mission for Umbrella. His past with the company was not part of his official cover story, and Jonathan could potentially damage that story. Eager to silence the younger man, Wesker arranged to have Jonathan removed.
A month passed, with Chris and John seeming like firm friends. John began to consider Chris to be an example of what he himself wished to be. Chris was passionate and motivated and, despite his younger age, had achieved more of his life goals than John himself had managed, despite also losing his own parents. John mentioned to Albert that he had always wished to graduate college, and Albert arranged false papers to indicate John’s acceptance into a prestigious university elsewhere in the state. Feeling as though he had finally gotten his life back on track, and thanking Chris for being his inspiration, John departed Raccoon.
In actuality, however, Albert had the man taken into Umbrella’s custody. A vagrant with no true family, John was a perfect candidate as a test subject. As a relative, he suited Albert’s own ends. Using John as the guinea pig for a targeted strain of the Tyrant virus, William Birkin was able to devise a perfect sample for Albert’s use. John was effectively crippled by the experimentation (thus why Albert himself had not volunteered), but despite this, Birkin still showed an interest in further researching John’s reaction to the prototype strain. Albert gave him leave to do so; John had served his purpose.
Unfortunately, work on the G-virus, followed by his untimely death, meant that Birkin was unable to continue his work on John, and so the man lay dormant in cryogenic suspension in a laboratory in Chicago for several years.
Eventually, Jonathan was broken out of his capsule by a monster of a man, identified by the barcode on his forehead as Malice. The other man was actually a B.O.W, drawn to the unique frequency emitted by John’s abnormal neural physiology (a result of Birkin’s experimentation). This frequency had a calming effect on Malice, who had previously been triggered into a fit of relentless slaughter by an opposite frequency generated by the facility administrator’s daughter. Unsure of what else to do, John took Malice and vanished into the streets without looking back.
Sometime later, John ran across a young girl on the streets, by the name of Claudia Gray. Though young, she had spent years fending for herself, unable to count on or trust anyone. Worse than that, was the fact that Umbrella had taken an interest in her also, something that he could not allow. Despite her protests, he decided upon adopting her (unofficially, as he and Malice were still fugitives), bringing her into their fold. With Malice as her protector, just as he was John’s, she was safer with them than alone, and she eventually came to realize that. Strangely, Claudia did not cause Malice the same deep-seated discomfort that most children did. As such, her integration into their group was made all the easier.
Determined to do something about Umbrella, and perhaps locate Chris, John began to put the pieces together, regarding Raccoon City and other incidents. With Malice serving as his muscle, John was able to infiltrate several Umbrella facilities, earning himself the ire of the company itself. Badly wounded during one particular offensive, Malice and John were offered refuge in a church, but the corporation’s agents tracked them down. The Priest who had given them sanctuary kept his silence until his final breath, giving them enough time to flee the building and evade capture, on this occasion. John chose to wear a priest’s vestments from that day on, as a mark of respect for the holy man that had not only saved his life, but restored his faith in the book he had once loved.
Items: The only item in his possession is his uncle’s rosary.
